Cambridge University Press is the
publishing business of the University
of Cambridge, one of the worldâ€™s
leading research institutions.
It is the oldest publishing house in the world and
the oldest university press. It originated from Letters
Patent (a â€˜royal charterâ€™) granted to the University
by Henry VIII in 1534, and has been operating
continuously since the fi rst University Press book was
printed in 1584.
